About the Kinobody Founder – Greg O’Gallagher
You can’t create a Kinobody review without mentioning the program founder, Greg O’Gallagher. He essentially became a millionaire at the age of 24 because he took his shirt off on YouTube and promised that you can get a “Hollywood physique” without restricting your diet or working out every day.
He first went viral in 2015 with his Real Bruce Wayne video, and then he followed up with videos inspired by American Psycho and Fight Club. The reason he likes to portray characters played by Christian Bale and Brad Pitt is because O’Gallagher believes those two actors had near-perfect physiques in those films, and that is the body type he is selling. His programs are all about a superhero body type, instead of getting big and bulky.
I was always fascinated with muscle and strength, so I was drawn to the physicality and loved watching the speed, power and precision in action movies. Even as a kid, I would be practicing these moves, doing push-ups and chin-ups. I just wanted to improve my body.
O’Gallagher grew up in Toronto, and is the son of the late Michael O’Gallagher, a Candian real estate mogul who was worth more than $800 million at the time of his passing. The Kinobody founder knew by the age of six that his goal in life was to “build a downright incredible physique that was strong and powerful.” But, when his dad died, he says it pressured him to figure out how to make something of his life on his own.
O’Gallagher dropped out of college after his freshman year and worked briefly as a personal trainer before moving to Los Angeles. He started following different fitness influencers on social media, but realized that there was nothing out there that he really loved and that lined up with his fitness goals. So, he decided to start making his own online content.
After months of blog posts and YouTube videos that didn’t make a dime, he released the Warrior Shredding and Greek God programs in 2012 and partnered with a marketing team the following year. By 2014, both programs had grossed more than $1 million in sales, and the Kinobody brand was born.

Kinobody Superhero Bulking Program
The Superhero Bulking Program is the final stage of Kinobody physique development and it features four phases. The first phase is honed in on building the chest and the back. At the same time, you are maintaining the size of your shoulders, arms, legs. You are still hitting those muscle groups, but putting more focus on the chest and the back.
In those two months, you're going to start to see your chest pop out and you're shoulders get wider.
Next, you transition to the shoulder phase. This is when your shoulders really start to pop, they get that rounded cap look, and you really create that masculine superhero physique.. Even while you're doing the shoulder phase, you’re still maintaining the results you made on the previous chest and back phase. Then you will start to tie things in and bring in the arms for the third phase.
The final phase lasts two months, and it is for tying everything together. You will not be doing a leg phase because they will grow on their own, and you don’t want to add too much size.

- O’Gallagher preaches that improving your lifts every week is the key to success, instead of destroying yourself in the gym everyday lifting the same weight every workout.
- Each workout will keep you in the five to eight rep range to maximize muscle growth, and O’Gallagher always preaches to take plenty of rest between sets.
A popular criticism of Greg's programs is they don't emphasize leg training enough. However, our Kinobody review tends to agree with the creator's philosophy on leg training since training your legs with the same intensity and focus as your upper body can actually cause them to grow at a disproportionate rate which isn't as visually appealing.
What is a Kino Diet?
The Kino diet is a nutrition protocol that focuses on caloric management with a combination of carb-cycling and intermittent fasting to increase exercise performance, induce temporary ketosis, and raise leptin levels.
It focuses on meal planning based on specific calorie calculations and macro nutrient requirements. Cycling carbohydrates allows your metabolism to maximize fat loss on rest days and provide needed energy on resistance training days.
Intermittent fasting is an eating protocol that controls meal timing and typically involves extending the overnight fast past the morning hours. The first meal consumed should be between 12 PM and 2PM.
It's this signature combination of cycling and fasting that adds to the effectiveness of the Kinobody programs.
Important Kinobody Intermittent Fasting & Diet Rules
While the exercise portion of Kinobody is important, the crux of the program is intermittent fasting. O’Gallagher promotes the 18/6 method, which is fasting for 18 hours and eating during a six-hour window each day.
You’re supposed to drink only water and black coffee until 2 p.m. Then, you can have a low-calorie meal (around 400 calories) and before 8 p.m., you’re supposed to eat a larger 1,600 calorie meal.
The idea behind this approach is that fasting throughout the day and then replenishing your body with food at night will “optimize catabolic and anabolic activity” and “fat mobilization.” By skipping breakfast and extending your overnight fast into the day, your growth hormone levels rise and it will preserve muscle mass and shift fuel metabolism into fat burning.
The insulin sensitivity in your muscles will also increase which will lead to lean muscle gains. O’Gallagher says that the improved insulin sensitivity will “better direct carbs into your muscle stores and away from fat storage.”
Testosterone is also boosted during short-term fasting, and by avoiding breakfast you won’t be eating when your cortisol peaks. Eating with elevated levels of cortisol can trigger post-meal hunger.
The Kinobody programs warn against fasting for more than twenty hours because it will deplete liver glycogen and shift you into a catabolic state. This can hurt your training performance and impair muscle building.
But, if this Kinobody review is being fair, the brand isn’t just about intermittent fasting, it also focuses on proper nutrition. If you are eating a poor diet and not paying attention to what you put into your body, fasting isn’t going to do much for you. So, it is all about eating healthy and being accountable for your calorie intake.
O’Gallagher also claims that intermittent fasting making eating healthy easier because you will start to crave foods like animal protein and veggies. And, because you are only eating two to three meals each day, you won’t have to think about it too much.
He also promotes the large 1,600 calorie meal for the evening because it allows you to eat out at restaurants without blowing your diet.
As far as fat loss and muscle mass is concerned, the calories and macros matter. O’Gallagher recommends thinking of fasting as a way to make everything more enjoyable while also realizing some of the incredible physiological benefits that fasting provides.
To transition to intermittent fasting, O’Gallagher says that you shouldn’t be counting down the hours until you can eat. Instead, he says that you should feel a heightened sense of focus, alertness, and energy.
The Kinobody rules for intermittent fasting are:
- Forget about the eating window - Don’t feel like you are required to wait until 2:00 PM to eat. If you get up early, have your first meal a little earlier. If you sleep in, wait a little longer to have your first meal. The power of fasting comes down to spending a good chunk of the day in the fasted state. This isn’t about some arbitrary feasting window, but rather a tailored approach of eating 4-7 hours after you typically wake up. Ultimately, keep it simple and flexible. You don’t want fasting controlling your life.

To sum up this Kinobody review, there is no doubt that the programs work. The Warrior Shredding Program is an amazing blueprint to getting the lean, chiseled Hollywood look a lot of people crave. The system works extremely well, and Greg O’Gallagher’s passion and energy can be contagious.
However, there is little instruction on lifting technique for beginners and not a ton of detail on the nutrition. But, there is a lot of value in each program, and if you purchase a Kinobody system, it will absolutely work if you follow it 100 percent.
You don’t have to live in the gym to get a Kinobody physique. The workouts are only about 45 minutes, and the reverse pyramid training calls for four to six reps at your heaviest weight before dropping down the weight and adding reps.
The progression model works well. Every time you do an exercise you are either adding weight or reps, so you are always making progress. Every week you will get better and better, but you have to stick to the intermittent fasting to achieve the look that Kinobody is selling.
Greg O’Gallagher is all about aesthetics, and you can definitely get a ripped physique by using his programs. You will notice a difference in just a couple of weeks, and if you stick with it long enough you will see big changes.
However, there’s no guarantee that the hot models and Lamborghinis will come your way when you hit your fitness goals. But, even Greg has admitted that the models in the videos are friends and the Lamborghini is rented. But the body, that’s for real. And according to this Kinobody review you can achieve it, too, if you put in the work.
